Michael and his wife Joanne have called Ward 1 home for almost 15 years. Michael believed and could see the great potential in Brantford, long before the media took notice.  That's why Michael packed up his family and moved to West Brant. Together with their 3 wonderful boys Eric, Joshua, Luke and their wonderful rescue dog Roxie, they have planted deep roots into their community. They could feel that family oriented community bond that they wanted for their children. They wanted their children to experience this type of community involvement, that is missing in most large municipalities, but wasn't lacking here in Brantford.   Brantford is home, and home is where their heart is.

COMMUNITY

​

Together, they have enjoyed volunteering hundreds of hours in community services for various programs. Everything from Kids Club programs, where Michael and his boys were part of a team that put together an after school program on Wednesday evenings for children less fortunate, who would otherwise be unable to participate in these fun friendly activities; to assisting in City sponsored/planned event cleanups. Michael is currently an active member on the Brantford Heritage Committee; and the Environmental and Sustainability Policy Advisory Committee.

EXPERIENCE

Michael was the runner up in the 2018 Brantford Ward 1 Election. Michael has over 25 years of business experience; in the Health Care, Public Services, Logistics, Operations Management and Financial Auditing, Budgeting & Forecasting fields. Michael holds diplomas in Accounting, Advanced Systems Administration, Computer Maintenance Technology, LAN Networking; as well as certificates in Leadership Skills, Team Building, & Successfully Managing People from various post-secondary schools. Michael has a desire to see Brantford thrive, through a more efficient use of city funding (taxpayers dollars). Michael has enjoyed success at many points throughout his professional career, acknowledged through rapid promotions, business awards, as well as corporate recognition. These professional experiences, as well as Michael's robust ability to resolve complex matters, would be a welcomed asset to this city council.
